Comfort Zone

Comfort Zone 11" x 17" Digital

Peace and Blessings, Everyone! I just finished a new piece today, entitled "Comfort Zone." It was pretty fun doing this piece; I wanted to focus primarily on my lighting and shading skills. I wanted to give the piece a sense of comforting vibes; a feeling of moments when you come home after a hard day of work or dealing with the children and you just want to lay back after a nice warm bubble bath and slip into something nice and smooth for the night.

The background is an Art Nouveau frame; my favorite French style of Art. The piece itself is also inspired by a classic Vanessa Williams song, "The Comfort Zone", released in 1991. (She's my all-time favorite sexy cougar, lol!)

More work coming soon! Stay Tuned!
Peace and Love!

Geronimo!!!!!!!

Another fallen revolutionary, "Geronimo" Pratt, has made his transition this past Friday, June 3, 2011.

It seems to me that we are definitely living in a different time; while the legendary elders are slowly fading onto the mysterious ancestral worlds, the question that I have is this: who is going to continue to deliver their teachings and their wisdom? We as a people are slowly losing our love and appreciation for culture, heritage, liberation and knowledge of our history and spirituality. Our community is becoming misguided by what is the now rather than being guided by what is the foundation. Our education is poor, our music voice is processed, and our arts are becoming extinct. The consciousness of knowing that we are African is becoming more and more of a myth to us. When are we going to cease the time?
